Dam(n/m)ed seeks to bring to light the ironic nature of the large scale displacement caused by the construction of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, and the invisibility of remote villages. While the rationale behind the project was advertised to be the provision of potable water, agricultural, flood security and hydroelectricity, the project itself stands responsible for the uprooting of over 200,000 people scattered across over 200 villages of 3 states, flooding and submergence of entire villages, and for stripping the farmers off of their self sufficiency, leaving them to the mercy of government officials.
